A Grammarly Blog

In this weeks technology tool blog I will be discussing a great proof reader technology. Grammarly is a peice of software designed to help fix grammar and spelling mistakes outside of Microsoft Word.

I tested this software through a firefox plugin on my mac and through my Iphone via an app from apple Itunes. My first impressions with Grammarly were great. I noticed Grammarly did a great job at anticipating which words I was trying to spell. I found Grammarly did a better job at this than say Microsoft Word.

What I also enjoyed was the user experience of this software. When you spell a word wrong or when Grammarly recommends an alternative word, it highlights the word in red. Then all I did was hover over the word with my cursor and select the alternative spelling.

Next I tested this software via my Iphone. Now my first impressions were not as stellar as when I used this software through my Macbook. I felt as if the Iphone app version was more of an after thought. This biggest issue I found was that the user experience was not as nice as when I was using it via my Macbook.

All in all I think Grammarly is a great technology tool. I would recommend this software to anyone. Another bonus is that this software is totally free! I will be keeping this plug-in on my tool bar as well as the app on my Iphone.
